How this works

I have set up a blog to review films that I watch at the cinema, which is a lot.
I am so interested in film and the media and thought I would share my opinions with those interested.
I will write a comment on the film e.g. What I enjoyed or what I did not, then rate it using a popcorn system. 1 popcorn means the film was awful, 100 popcorns means the film was the best thing I've ever seen, get it?

11/03/15 Focus

An absolutely brilliant film. I was really looking forward to seeing this because I adore Will Smith and Margot Robbie and the genre of crime fiction films. The film had romance, humour, wit and style plus a really clever and exciting plot. The music was current and modern and really made a lasting impact. Margot Robbie has made a name for herself in such a short space of time, starting with The Wolf Of Wolf Street supporting leading actor Leonardo Di Caprio and here supporting Will Smith - something that needs to be highly attributed. The story line kept you interested the whole way a long and had some genuine laugh out loud moments. I strongly recommended this for anyone wanting to see a light-hearted comedy with the brilliant Will Smith and beautiful Margot Robbie.

09/03/15 Chappie

The following film review was posted in an edition of the Essex Enquirer as part of Festival Film Club.
I went into this film with an open mind as sci-fi films usually require a lot of your attention to keep up with the snazzy lingo and impressive technology. Following the storyline of a police robot called Chappie who is stolen and trained into a 'gangster' to help three criminals get out of money trouble. As the film progressed I wasn't sure whether I was for or against main robot Chappie. The story line kept you on your toes with all of the characters being baddies at some points and goodies at others which captivated my attention for a while. Dev Patel's acting can be credited here as he gave a decent portrayal of maker of Chappie: Deon, where as Hugh Jackman seemed to have a bit of an irrelevant role for someone of his acting talent. The special effects were impressive, however the story line became not so much. It became too unrealistic, which is normally fine for a sci-fi film but left me feeling rather baffled by the end of it. They slightly over stepped the line when it came to being creative with new technology and the constant gun battles (although unique for a film of this genre) became a little annoying. However, something averagely interesting to see if you're into watching a bit of Hugh Jackman with a mullet and a cute yet devilish robot called Chappie.
