On such a controversial film I feel insignificant in the world of film reviews. This film cannot possibly receive a good review, how dare it? Yet, I am going to give it one. I cannot find a fault with this film, as a reader of the trilogy of books, it was exact to the story line. Therefore, you cannot knock something for being remade that is exactly correct of its' original. Credit to the main actors Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, I can only imagine it would take a lot of guts and confidence to act in the way they had to. The soundtrack is the aspect of the film that needs most credit, in parts where it would be found awkward or cringy, the music really saved it. There was really no need for special effects as anything 'out of the ordinary' was focused on in the 'Red Room of Pain.' However, the CGI effects for the helicopter scene were good. Overall, this was an enjoyable watch and I am looking forward to the next one.

How this works
I have set up a blog to review films that I watch at the cinema, which is a lot.
I am so interested in film and the media and thought I would share my opinions with those interested.
I will write a comment on the film e.g. What I enjoyed or what I did not, then rate it using a popcorn system. 1 popcorn means the film was awful, 100 popcorns means the film was the best thing I've ever seen, get it?

13/02/14 Selma
Before I went into the screen to see this film I checked the percentage rating on Rotten Tomatoes and found that it was 98%, I expected great things. This film did not disappoint, the story line was inspiring and empowering to say the least. David Oyelowo gave a beautiful portrayal of Martin Luther King with the help of supporting actress Oprah Winfrey who's acting ability also needs to be credited. At times it was harrowing to watch but a real eye opener to make you appreciate life and the sacrifices some made for others. The real footage of the march on the bridge was a nice touch and the soundtrack included some intense music that coincided with the story line. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this film and would highly recommend it.

10/02/14 The Interview
Exactly what you would expect from a Seth Rogan film with pal James Franco cast. I can see why there was so much controversy in releasing this film, you definitely have to watch it open minded-ly to laugh at the humor proposed. The soundtrack was good, with my personal favourite of Run The World (girls) by Beyonce being played. James Franco's acting can also be credited along with the special effects. Overall, there is nothing to really slate but nothing to rave about that much either.
